The Royal Canyon Walking Group is planning a number of walks for 2019-20.  Although our prior name was the “Hiking Group” we have decided to change the name as we encourage our neighbors to join in our little adventures which will not be too strenuous.  Many of our planned walks are in the neighborhood and generally will be an hour and one-half or less.  Dogs on leashes are welcome to join us.

Meet at 1420 Greenbriar Road and we will car pool to Brand Park and “Walk to the Towers”.

This is more of a hike as it will be on the trail behind Brand Park that goes to the communications towers and the return will be to either Brand Park (for those who drove) or down the fire road to the top of Sunshine Drive back to my home on Greenbriar.

This will be around 5 miles and we will not get back until around 11:30 - noon.

This is the longest of the scheduled walks.

What you missed on last Saturday’s RCPOA walk:
        1. Getting up early - I learned we will not start at 8 am on a Saturday’s as we had a low turn out.  Next walk is Thursday, Oct 24 at 9 am.
        2. We walked Greenbriar and the streets off Greenbriar and saw many interesting things some of which were:
                a. beautiful gardens including one filled with flowers galore that upon close inspection are artificial flowers
                b. not one but two secret sidewalks
                c. some houses that have incredible views and 5 houses that had their Halloween decorations up
                d. the County flood control basin in our neighborhood which the City just cleaned
         3.  Fresh air and exercise made a wonderful way to start a beautiful October day (we concluded by 10 am)
